The HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak races returned once again to Lone Star last Saturday, November 13th with an Allowance race going 6 1/2 furlongs and offered $10,000 Added courtesy of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Flat Racing Festival.
The field quickly became one of the most intriguing and competitive fields of the year, including several Darley Award winners as well as Darley hopefuls for the 2021 racing year. The race played out in dramatic fashion, as Quick Sand AA (2018 Darley Horse of the Year) and Uptown Lady Arabella crossed the finish line in tandem to finish in a dead head, followed closely by Uptown Sandy Girl (2020 Darley Horse of the Year) and Hiab Al Zaman.
Uptown Lady Arabella is owned/bred by Jon & Krista Henningsgard of Uptown Arabians, trained by Carlos Padilla, and ridden by Alfredo Contreras. Quick Sand AA is bred/owned by Joe & Betty Gillis of Allegro Arabians, trained by Cesar Govea, and ridden by Francisco Giles.
