Twice in a row, RS Jewel Crown's kick has turned out to be a deadly – in last month's Texas Yellow Rose Stakes (G3) and now in the Darley Distaff (Listed) when the filly went from the last to first running down the leaders for the win. Additionally, both races have been a stretch run bid against RB Blair Hope. But once more, RS Jewel Crown, gamely held on to win it under jockey Jose Alvarez for trainer Nicole Ruggeri, who owns the filly in conjunction with her husband, Andres Ruggeri.
RB Blair Hope was second, followed by TM Purncess for third.
Final time for the 7 furlong event was 1:33.73.
