RB Madeline Kate Upholds Perfect Record in Yellow Rose(G3); Like Moulin Rouge Takes Six Shooter(G3)

RB Madeline Kate dueled with Uptown Lady Arabella in the stretch and pulled off a photo-finish victory by a head in the Grade 3 Texas Yellow Rose over 7 furlongs at Sam Houston Race Park on Saturday night, February 26. The 4-year-old grey filly sired by Majd Al Arab and out of the dam RB Big N Rich remained undefeated in four career races. For breeder and owner RoseBrook Farm, it was its third Texas Yellow Rose in a row after Dance With Me BW in 2019 and RB Feel the Burn in 2021. (There was no running in 2020.) Jockey Ernesto Valdez-Jiminez has been aboard each of these RoseBrook winners in the Yellow Rose, with Cesar Govea saddling RB Madeline Kate.

The next race, Like Moulin Rouge glided over a muddy track at Sam Houston Race Park, erasing a double-digit deficit in the blink of an eye and pulling away for a smashing five-length victory in the Grade 3 Texas Yellow Rose over 7 furlongs. For jockey Jose Alvarez, it was his first career Arabian win, and it came in a graded stakes race. Like Moulin Rouge, a 5-year-old Texas-bred bay gelding bred, owned, and trained by Ken Danyluk, won his sixth race in 15 starts. He had a four-race win streak in 2021 with victories in Texas, California, and Colorado.

Congratulations to all the winning connections in this first pair of Graded Stakes races for Arabians in the USA for 2022!
