It was a great night at Lone Star Park last Friday for veteran owners/breeders Joe & Betty Gillis of Allegro Arabians when their two homebreds – both coming in with unbeaten records – swept the lucrative pair of G3 TX Juvenile Stakes – each offering a $30,000 purse. The first race for 3 year old fillies saw Pearls Spirit AA bumped at the start, but then splitting horses three wide on the turn to win by four lengths. She now increases her unbeaten record to 4-of-4. RS Jewel Crown was second, followed by Roxy CS in third. Final time was 1:21.38. The following race, Diamond Gem AA ran a huge race, winning with ease by a whopping 14 lengths in an absolutely dominating performance. RB Grand Slam was second. Another Allegro-bred horse, Fleets Ace AA, was third. Final time was 1:19.66. Both horses were ridden by Luis Vivanco and trained by Jerenesto Torrez. Congratulations to the winning connections!
