The Nicole Ruggeri trained Burning Hess went wire-to-wire to capture the six-furlong event in a time of 1:22.87 with Noe Villatoro aboard. Burning Hess is a seven year-old gelding by Dahess(GB) out of the Burning Sand mare named Aarons Gonna Burn You. Sam Vasquez bred the Texas-bred gelding.
